The topic of this paper is the analysis of student association’s work of the department under the direction Prof. Kedvessy. It was dealt with formation and objective of home scientific student movement, introduced the beginning of the work of our Faculty. It was listed the students working as members of student association and their results were analysed. Portraits three outstanding students are designed.

As a consequence of the global threat of antibiotic resistance, antimicrobial stewardship (AS) programmes have become an essential part of the healthcare systems. AS guidelines emphasize the importance of benchmarking. The term is derived from management practices in which corporations use performance markers to evaluate themselves against their competitors. We benchmarked antibiotic use, cost and nosocomial infection prevalence in surgical and neurosurgical wards of Hungarian hospitals. Significant differences were revealed in all measured parameters. The most critical part of the analysis is the risk-adjustment process. The literature of antibiotic drug benchmarking is not extensive and the methodology of risk-adjustment has not been solved yet. There is a need to devise new methods, which take interhospital differences in patient case-mix, comorbidities, and risk factors for nosocomial infections into account.

Nowadays the weight-loss dietary supplements are very popular and a wide variety of different types are available. As the demand for them has increased, they appeared from various sources and became available for the population without the adequate information of a competent specialist. The reason for their easy access is that most of them are not marketed as a medicine; consequently no official marketing authorization was needed for their release to the market. As a result of this situation they are available at a number of places, e.g. by internet shopping, grocery stores, drug stores, which may lead to an incorrect choice of therapy and consequently to health damage. In order to prevent the unnecessary health damage, in this respect, the pharmacists’ duty is to give adequate information including their safe use. The main purpose of the present study was to give an overview about the weight management products, primarily dietary supplements and to investigate their marketing, distribution and the possible ways of prevention to avoid the problems related to their easy access.
