A növényi, állati és ásványi eredetű készítményeken, a klasszikus kismolekulájú hatóanyagokon, valamint a modern biologikumokon kívül ma már több olyan gyógyszerkészítmény is forgalomban van, melyek hatóanyaga oligonukleotid származék. Ezen vegyületeket elsősorban a géncsendesítésben használják, mely egyedi mechanizmusából fakadóan lehetővé teszi olyan betegségek gyógyítását is, melyek más módon nem, vagy csak nehezen kezelhetőek. Azonban részben pont emiatt, többnyire ritka betegségek kezelésére alkalmazzák őket, így a gyógyszertári gyakorlatban ritkán találkoznak ilyen készítménnyel a gyógyszerészek. Ezenkívül a gyógyszerészképzés tananyagában csak érintőlegesen szerepelnek, így aztán a gyakorló gyógyszerészek tudása ezekről gyakran korlátozott. Ezen írás célja, hogy bevezetőként szolgáljon egy cikksorozathoz, amelyben szeretnék gyógyszerészek számára hasznos áttekintést nyújtani a jelenleg használt géncsendesítő gyógyszerekről. Ebben a cikkben az ezen gyógyszerek működésének megértéséhez szükséges kémiai és biológiai alapokat igyekszem áttekinteni.

Gene silencing medicines I: introduction to the world of natural and artificial nucleic acids

Besides natural drugs, small molecule pharmacons and modern biologics, several oligonucleotide based medicines are now available. They are primarily used in gene silencing, which, due to its unique mechanism of action, is capable to cure diseases which are hardly druggable. Gene silencers are often used against rare genetic disorders, therefore pharmacists rarely meet them in everyday community practice. Moreover, they are only included as a minor chapter in the pharmacist curriculum. Under the current circumstances most of the pharmacists often have limited knowledge of these drugs. The aim of this publication is to familiarize the reader with the natural nucleic acids and their synthetic analogs in order to acquire sufficient chemical and biological knowledge to better understand the properties of these medicines.

Keywords: gene silencing, oligonucleotide, xeno-nucleic acid

Pharmaceutical technological aspects of hydrogels and oleogels

The article gives an overview of the gels on the market in Hungary (especially hydrogels) and their applicability in different fields. It discusses oleogels separately, their applications, and their potential use as drug delivery systems. The article also discusses the advantages and disadvantages of oleogels and hydrogels, which are based on measurement results. The utilizations of hydrogels are extremely diverse, but there are few studies on oleogels and the potential of pharmaceutical technology. In our article, we wanted to draw attention to the application areas of oleogels.

Manapság egyre inkább előtérbe kerül a nyugtató hatású OTC (vény nélkül kapható) termékek alkalmazása is.

Therapeutic possibilities of insomnia in pharmaceutical care

Insomnia is a sleep disorder in which the patient has trouble falling and/or staying asleep. It. becomes a common disease in modern society. The diagnosis is complicated. It is difficult to determine whether insomnia occurs as a separate disease, as a symptom of a disease or as a side effect of a particular drug. In the treatment of sleep disorders, it is often sufficient to apply non-drug therapeutic options. Alternative therapies include adequate sleep hygiene, daytime and bedtime relaxation techniques, behavioral therapy, sleep restriction and light therapy. Nowadays, the use of sedative OTC products becomes emphasized.
