Kutatómunkám során online kérdőív formájában vizsgáltam, hogy az onkológiai betegek a daganatos megbetegedésükkel összefüggő gyógyszereik kiváltása során megkapják-e a gyógyszerek helyes alkalmazásához szükséges információkat. A kérdések a kezelés során otthon használt gyógyszerformákra vonatkoztak: tabletta/kapszula, injekció, tapasz, kúp, oldat/csepp. A különbség kiemelkedő a tapaszok esetében. Expediálás során összességében a mellékhatásokról esik a legkevesebb szó. A mellékhatások ismerete fontos a kezelés és az adherencia szempontjából, ezért erre mindenképpen nagyobb hangsúlyt szükséges fektetni. Ha expediálás közben nincs rá lehetőség, akkor érdemes külön elérhetőséget vagy konzultációs alkalmat biztosítani a betegnek ezen információk átbeszélésére.

Oncological patients in community pharmacy

The aim of the study was to investigate that oncology patients receive the necessary information related to the correct application for prescribed drugs of their oncology treatment. The chosen method was online questionnaire. The questions concerned the pharmaceutical formulations of self-administered medications applied during the treatment: tablets/capsules, injections, patches, suppositories, solutions/drops. The questionnaire also collected answers for the following topics: information given to the patient during drug dispensing, about the dosage, method of administration, appropriate storage and side effects regarding all dosage form. The results showed that the perception that information given during drug dispensing covers all the listed topics are much higher percentage of the participating pharmacists and assistants than patients. In case of the patches the difference is significant. The survey also showed that overall, side effects are the least discussed aspect during the drug dispensing, even though knowledge on side effects has high importance in terms of treatment and adherence, therefore more emphasis on this is definitely needed. If this cannot be provided during drug dispensing, it is highly advisable to provide either direct contact to the pharmacist or consultation opportunity for the patients to discuss the required information further.

Analysis of e-cigarette liquids

‘Electronic cigarette’ means a product that can be used for consumption of nicotine-containing vapour. E-cigarette use is very popular, but in addition to its already known harmful effects, it carries numerous unknown health risks. There is no well-established practice for quality control of e-cigarette liquids across Europe. Further problem with this product group is its illegal, thriving online market. Therefore, during my diploma work at NIPN’s OMCL laboratory, our goal was to obtain the widest possible information about the quality and actual composition of e-cigarette liquids from internet commerce. By using the newly obtained informations, we would like to make the use of e-cigarette liquids safer in Hungary with a possible proposal to amend the legislation.

A dermalisan alkalmazott készítmények az elmúlt évek során fokozott figyelmet kaptak, és jelentőségük a gyógyszeres terápiákban egyre inkább növekszik a dermalis beviteli kapu előnyös tulajdonságainak köszönhetően. Gyógyszer-technológiai szempontból azonban a bőrön keresztüli hatóanyag-bevitel rendkívüli kihívást jelent, a bőr barrier funkciója miatt. A hatóanyag transzportját biztosító mátrixban a készítmény hatóanyag-koncentrációja megnő, ezáltal szuperszaturált rendszer jön létre, amely megnövekedett hatóanyag-penetrációt biztosít a bőr barrier szerkezetének megbontása nélkül. A filmképző rendszerek alkalmazhatóságukat tekintve ötvözik a hagyományos gyógyszerformák és a transdermalis tapaszok előnyös tulajdonságait, amelynek következtében kényelmesebb és jobb hatás érhető el. Mind orvosi, mind kozmetikai szempontból releváns ezen rendszerek kidolgozása és vizsgálata, amely megalapozhatja szélesebb körű alkalmazásukat.

In situ film-forming system, as an innovative drug delivery formulation

Dermal formulations have received increased attention in drug therapies because of the beneficial properties of dermal drug administration. However, due to the protective role of the skin, increasing permeation is an extraordinary challenge, that can be achieved by using an innovative drug delivery method, such as in situ film-forming system. They are composed of volatile and non-volatile components. During the application, the volatile component evaporates, thereby a film is formed on the skin surface. In the matrix the drug concentration increases, resulting in a supersaturated system, which provides increased drug permeation without disrupting the skin barrier. Film-forming systems combine the advantages of conventional dermal formulations and transdermal patches, ensuring more comfortable and effective use. Their development and examination are relevant from both medical and cosmetic points of view, which may provide a basis for their wider application.

Management of hemorrhoids: local treatment and oral support of venous functions

Hemorrhoids (piles) are localized dilations that occur under the skin surrounding the rectum (external hemorrhoids) or on the inner wall of the rectum (internal hemorrhoids). In developed countries, hemmorhoids may affect at least a third of the population, while almost one in two people in their 50s have experienced complaints associated with hemorrhoids. Congenital, hereditary factors, factors influencing abdominal pressure, and lifestyle all play a significant role in the development of hemorrhoids. The management of hemorrhoids includes the prevention of constipation (through lifestyle and medication), the local treatment of the symptoms of hemorrhoids, and the oral administration of venotonics.
